Metro Gold Line
Playhouse Plaza is conveniently located within walking distance of the Metro Gold Line’s Lake Avenue station. Spanning 13.7 miles, the Gold Line links Union Station in Downtown Los Angeles with Sierra Madre Villa in East Pasadena via stops in Chinatown, Highland Park, South Pasadena, and Pasadena. With rising gas prices and longer commutes, The Gold Line is a cost effective and easy means of transportation. To travel from Union Station to the Lake Avenue station on the Gold Line, riders can expect a 23 minute, congestion-free trip.
The Gold Line is part of the Los Angles Metro light rail and subway system that connects Pasadena to Long Beach in the south and Universal City in the north with numerous points in-between.
Phase II of the Gold Line, scheduled to be complete in 2013 will connect Pasadena to Claremont, stopping in 10 cities along the way.

With a stop steps from Playhouse Plaza and connecting to the San Gabriel and Pomona Valleys and Los Angeles County, Foothill Transit offers simplicity in traveling to and from Pasadena. Operating 36 express or local lines, Foothill Transit covers 327 square miles and serves 15 million customers every year.
